He's Set Apart

He spent the day with his best friend Brianna and he went to say good-bye to the friends from Burke.  Today was better than Christmas!  I think Christmas was tuff, no "worldly presents" the money was all spent on "the mission".  Reality has sunk in, and time running short - Christmas was brutal.

Tonight we went to the stake center to be "set apart" - a blessing to guide and bless Amric as he embarks on this next two years.

The things that stuck out to me were the comments about obedience.  The idea that he should immediately start "opening his mouth" proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Tons of blessings if he is in tune and seeking after the spirit and in the mission will follow the rules.  Also that he must communicate weekly with the parents, but he hesitated...(I'll be curious to see how he communicates) he said it was in accordance with the Mission President.  Amrics spirit is humble and anxious.

Say your prayers for him and us!!! (teehe!)  Tomorrow we are off Ayris, Amric and Us... to start brand new books not even new chapters!  Hold on to your hats!!!!

The Farewell

Today Amric gave a talk in church.  He did a very nice job.  We were grateful for friends who came to the meeting to support him like Arnolds, and Martinis.
Highlights:
Amric taught about 1 Nephi 3:7.  He asked everyone to insert their own name when he read it back to us "silently Dad not outloud!".
He told everyone he "Loved it out here in the Fremont Ward!". . . "we all might be a little quirky, but that is what makes us great!"
he said that his Dad hit him when he said "TRY"  and that I "yell" at him "Remember who you are" everytime he leaves the house!
He bore his trestimony that it was thru obedience that he, his two sisters and his brother along with his parents were in the Celestial Room in the Temple together and for that he will forever be grateful because that experience was awesome!
While he was bearing his testimony someones electronic device went off and Amric said "Really, someone is playing Angry Birds while I'm talking!"  and then just went on talking!

HE was grateful for seminary and that Mom was able to teach him his last 6 months, that he loves SIster Sorenson and her class was great 98% of the time!!!

He ended with "I don't want to be corny, but God Be With You"  til I return and testified of the truth of the Book of Mormon and the Scriptures and the importance of reading them.

He then went to his interview with President Bartlett and came home we ate all day and watched The Seahawks play football!!!  It was a Wonderful Day  :)
